Prescription Medicine Take Back Day

TAKE BACK DAY OCT 2019

On October 26, 2019 the Indian Valley Character Counts! Coalition assisted the Franconia Police Department during the National Prescription Medicine Take Back Day.  The event was hosted by Souderton Area School Districts, Franconia Elementary School.  The event was fall themed and featured “Halloween Cookies with a Cop” and fall games including, “Say Boo to Drugs!”

During the event over 53 pounds of Prescription Medications were collected.  Post event surveys indicated that the Coalition is gaining more recognition in the community and the communities knowledge of permanent drop boxes is increasing.  These events are helping to provide critical information on proper prescription medicine disposal.
