APRIL 28, 2018 – 10:00AM-2:00PM PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE TAKE BACK DAY AND COOKIES WITH A COP-UPDATE

On April 28, 2018 the Indian Valley Character Counts! Coalition in Partnership with the Franconia Police Department and Souderton Area School District hosted a Take Back event and Cookies with a Cop at the Franconia Elementary Middle School.

Take Back Notes:  Did you know that it has been documented that over 70% of those that abuse prescription pain relievers get them from a friend?  Thank you to those who participated and helped in our efforts to keeping our community safer for our youth.  Close to 100 pounds of unwanted and unused prescription medicine were deposited during the Take Back Event.

Cookies with A Cop:  This is the first time we have added this event to our Take Back Day.  Children were greeted by Detective Sergeant George Moyer, Officer Glenn Kranich and Officer Timothy Boyle.  Children enjoyed cookies and lemonade and an opportunity to have a fun and friendly interaction with the officers.  We hope to include Cookies with a Cop at all Take Back Events in the future!  Landis Supermarket was kind enough to provide the cookies for the day of the event!

Special recognition to those who volunteered at this event including members of the Indian Valley Character Counts! Coalition, Police Officers from the Franconia Police Department and the Principal of Franconia Elementary School, Laura Heineck.

On April 28, 2018 stop by Franconia Elementary School between 10:00am-2:00pm to dispose of your unwanted and unused prescription medicines. Drive through options are available.  Pull up, drop your medications in the box and drive right through.
This year we will be offering an additional stop for you and your child.  Stop by and say hello to one of local Police Officers with our Cookies with a Cop event.   Cookies and lemonade will be available and have been provided by our friends at Landis Supermarket!

Our partners for this event are listed ON the flyer below.  We hope to see you there!
